Last Sunday we blessed Luke in Sacrament meeting. We waited a few months so that parents could be here and it was great to have my dad with me in the circle. Luke seemed to enjoy being the center of attention, and at three months old he was big enough to hold the microphone for me. So that worked out nicely.
And somehow the day got even more special when we spent the hour after church standing out in the hot sun taking pictures. The temple is right next door to our Stake Center, so we made the short jaunt over for our photo shoot. Despite the heat I was patient and considerate of others, as is my nature.

What a cute family! Meg looks thrilled in these photos.
Oooh--one of our very favorite families. You all look like your years in the sun have done you well. (And no offense to your political commentaries but these are my favorite kinds of posts, by the way).
What a cutie! He is definitely a great addition to a such an awesome family!
At least you took pictures. After blessing Bella, Matt had to literally race to catch his plane, I had to meet with the bishop after the meeting and our ward building is so old and 'vintage' in a bad way that there was no where to take a picture without horrible lighting and horrible background so we never even took any. Talk about not caring at all about the third child! I think we'll dress her up again on Sunday and take a few 'fake' pictures of her blessing day for scrapbook purposes down the road. We sure missed you guys this time. You all look great despite the hot photo shoot. Hey, it was 54 degrees here in Chicago yesterday. That is cause for much celebration.
Love,
JB
Mckay wants to know why Meg is mad?
