Celebrating Canada Day on July 4th

It was hard for our family to be away from everyone on Canada Day. Fortunately, Our friends the Nielsens had a little together and and invited us along with two other families. It was three days late, not the same as watching the Canada Day parade go down mainstreet in Raymond, but a great time nonetheless.

After a great bbq, everyone lights the candles on the red-white-and-blue Canada cake.

Ambrien, Meg, Cyan, and Abriel wait on the edge of Nichada lake for the traditional Canada Day fireworks display.

The kids lineup for an 'fishing expedition' celebrating the greatness of the Canadian outdoors.

Ah, Shane. Maybe one day your dream will be a reality and the whole world will really start to spin around you. What's that? You'd settle for America and Thailand revolving around Canada? How about Americans in Thailand? Maybe you're on to something with that one.

...you almost had me, by the way. Until I got demoted! I mean, I can handle always being in second place (much like the Canadians) but this little game of "favorites" I just don't know about.

But, to show my good sportsmanship...

All Hail, Angela, well deserving of the Top Blog Spot.

I thought only Raymond proper citizens would darken the Canada Day parade? Where is your sense of town rivalry? We blew off Canada Day and the 4th of July for the most part...doesn't everyone celebrate the 4th with taco salad for dinner? We did watch fireworks and are now fondly scratching our mosquitoe bits. Good to know Canadian patriotism is alive and well all the way in Thailand.

Interestingly, all a husband has to do these days to reinstate his wife in the number one spot is hack into his spouses blog, vengefully exchange the ranking of her best friend to that of her own brother (thus putting the feud to rest) and sit back and watch the fallout.

Other alterations to her blog site live only now in legend...who's this tiger crawling into the living room? Lee Aaron, that's who.

Giddy-up Cowboy.
